NEW BREW FOR SEQ – OPENING THIS WEEKEND

Perentie Brewing Co. has today unveiled its brand-new, 1 million litre capacity lager brewery, ahead of its official opening to the public on Saturday, December 16.

The brainchild of Zarraffa’s Coffee Founder, Kenton Campbell, Perentie Brewing Co. forms part of the 17,000sqm lifestyle and entertainment hub at Distillery Road Market (DRM), and is a purpose-built, $6 million-dollar brewery specialising in authentic lager beers.

Set to attract visitors from near and far, the new Logan tourism hotspot is situated in the bustling growth corridor between Brisbane and the Gold Coast with a fully accessible beer garden which overlooks an expanse of the Albert River with views of the historic Beenleigh Rum Distillery.

The impressive 921m2 architecturally designed space holds over 30,000 litres of beer onsite ready for this weekend’s opening, with a total 68 taps of beer throughout the precinct, 40 dedicated to Perentie’s own brews.

With all beer brewed onsite, Perentie Brewing Co. offer three signature beer products to suit every palate, including its Summer Dry (a mid-strength lager), Pure Crisp (clean crisp lager) and Komodo Black (dark lager) beers.

Beer aficionados and casual drinkers alike will experience a clean and crisp lager beer, which has been produced using traditional German brewing techniques, to deliver a distinct and unmistakable taste for the Australian palate.          

Also offering beers by the can, the brewery will manage its own canning and kegging onsite in Perentie’s state-of-the-art production facility that has the capacity to brew 1 million litres of beer per year.

Perentie Brewing Co.’s Summer Dry is a light and refreshing lager with subtle hop character, the classic well-rounded beer. Pure Crisp offers a clean, crisp Australian taste with a noble hop character that lingers for just long enough. While lovers of rich and complex beers full of character will enjoy Komodo Black, featuring a smooth, lightly roasted malt character with hints of chocolate and cocoa.

Foodies, have no fear – Perentie’s beer will be complemented by a seasonal menu served fresh from the Perentie Kitchen. Featuring the likes of the Perentie Smash Burger, a modern twist on a classic cheeseburger, a fresh and creamy Prawn and Bug Roll, and Onion Rings made using Perentie’s Komodo Black beer.

Outside, the beer garden area with seating for over 200, features an expansion of the smoke pit of DRM’s popular onsite outlet – Sugar Creek Smokehouse – serving up sumptuous smoked meats direct from the pit, as well as some new menu additions coming early next year.

The brewery is named after Australia’s largest monitor lizard, the Perentie, which is native to the outback.

In addition to the opening of Perentie Brewing Co., DRM is also set to open The F.E.D (The Food and Entertainment District), a brand-new indoor/outdoor entertainment facility and casual dining precinct in early 2024.

The F.E.D will house existing onsite outlets Posadas Cantina and Sugar Creek Smokehouse, which will move to their new indoor locations, as well as a bill of new unique and flavoursome new outlets set to be announced next year.

DRM’s purpose-built outdoor entertainment facility and live music venue will feature world-class equipment with the ability to hold up to 2,000 patrons for large scale events, as well as an indoor, air-conditioned entertainment space within The F.E.D, featuring a host of street food container-style outlets, showcasing the best authentic cuisines.
