LEADING EARLY LEARNING GROUP BRINGS MORE ‘EDGE’ TO LOGAN REGION

One of Queensland’s leading early learning groups, Edge Early Learning, will open its fifth centre within the Logan region at Flagstone this January, providing dozens of families with more access to quality education and care within the area.

Edge Early Learning Flagstone will be open to local families from Monday 22 January and will provide education and care for up to 108 children per day aged 6-weeks to school age.

Nestled in the heart of Flagstone on Golden Penda Drive, the Flagstone centre is conveniently located next to Flagstone State Community College and opposite Flagstone State School, and will provide 30 jobs for passionate local educators.

The centre marks the fifth site to be developed within the bustling Logan region and joins existing centres at Waterford West, Marsden, Eagleby, and Crestmead – catering to a total of 1,112 children across the suburbs.

The new purpose-built and state-of-the-art centre has been meticulously planned and developed to inspire creativity, curiosity, and instil a lifelong love for learning.

Across two-storeys, Edge Flagstone has seven early learning rooms filled with books and modern learning resources, and individual age-specific play areas specially designed for nursery, toddler and kindergarten aged children.

Outdoor areas feature a large blue train-themed climbing fort, water misters, bike tracks, sandpits, vegetable gardens, spaces to run, and quiet areas to relax.

“Edge Flagstone represents a new chapter in educational excellence for the thriving community of Flagstone. Our commitment to providing top-tier early childhood education is reflected in every detail of this purpose-built centre,” Edge Early Learning CEO Annie Bryce said.

“The excitement and anticipation from families in Flagstone have been extraordinary, with dozens of families enquiring and interested taking tours. It’s clear that there’s a genuine demand for quality education and care within this area and we’re thrilled to cater to local families with our new centre.”

“The Flagstone centre is more than just a physical space, it’s a commitment to creating an educational haven where children can have fun and develop a lifelong love for learning through inquiry-based learning and play experiences.”

Edge’s educational programs support and enhance learning milestones and journeys across all areas of development through its four pillars, education, wellbeing, relationships, and sustainability.

Edge’s Kindergarten program utilises the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines and the Early Years Learning Framework to guide their pedagogy and practice. These include the areas of identity, connectedness, wellbeing, active learning, and communication.

In addition to quality early education, Edge is leading the way by offering mindfulness activities such as yoga, and incorporating sustainable practices such as utilising bamboo nappies and wipes, sunscreen, and environmentally friendly cleaning products. As well as offering daily meals made by in-house chefs who cater to all dietary requirements, all included in the daily fee.

With opening hours from 6.30am to 6.30pm from Monday to Friday, the new Edge Flagstone centre offers extended operation times to best suit parents and carers and enables them to get the most out of the allocated subsided hours per fortnight.

With a strong team of educators helmed by Centre Director, Mandy Arthurell, who has strong connections within the Flagstone community, Edge are seeking more passionate educators to join the team.
