DANIEL SLOSS JOINS THE GC LAUGHS FESTIVAL LINE UP

Award-winning Scottish comedy superstar, Daniel Sloss, will return to Australia in time to join the comedic powder keg that is the GC Laughs Festival on April 11, at HOTA, Home of the Arts.

With sold out shows in Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney, Canberra and Perth ‘Daniel Sloss: HUBRIS’, is the 11th solo show by this comedy sensation, set to keep local audiences in stiches for one night only.

GC Laughs Festival Director Josh Armstrong said after a sell-out performance of his HBO featured show ‘X’ at the 2019 Festival, Daniel was thrilled to return to the Coast.

“Sloss had so much fun, he is elated to be able to come back and perform here again. His first time here was a smash success, it was a sell-out show, the audience loved him, we loved having him and he loved the Gold Coast,” he said.

Daniel Sloss’ latest show ‘HUBRIS’ is the follow up to an incredible 300 performance tour through over 50 countries over 17 months of ‘X’, his 2018/2019 show that was filmed for HBO.

This is off the back of releasing two Netflix specials in 2018 to 190 countries in 26 languages, where Sloss has solidified his reputation as an international comedy titan.

‘Jigsaw’, one of the two shows filmed for Netflix, became infamous for breaking up over 95,000 couples and was cited in more than 200 divorces.

“His shows are hilarious and dark, but they also explore complex ideas and difficult topics,” explained Josh.

“Bringing performers like Daniel Sloss and all of the incredible artists who are part of the 2021 GC Laughs program to Gold Coast audiences is our main goal of the Festival.”

“Live comedy is so unique and engaging, we want everybody to be able to enjoy and access it in some form.”

The GC Laughs Festival starts March 13 at HOTA, Home of the Arts, with a week of incredible shows from some of the best comedians in Australia and from around the world.

‘Daniel Sloss: HUBRIS’ has been added on April 11, bolstering an already killer line up of talent.
