ATELIERS THE NEW EDGE IN EARLY LEARNING

As leaders and innovators in the childcare industry, Edge Early Learning have installed purpose-built ateliers in their newest centre in Coomera on the Gold Coast; part of the innovative, immersive educational program that sets this rapidly expanding brand apart.

Opened earlier this month, the new Edge Early Learning Coomera Centre typifies the type of educational and environmental enrichment that the brand is well known for; creating pathways for each child to express themselves, whatever their passions.

“There is no ‘cookie cutter’ approach to learning these days,” said Edge Early Learning CEO Annie Bryce. “We design our educational programs and facilities to inspire learning and ensure all our children can enjoy a vibrant and enriching experience across their day.”

The growing SEQ-based childcare centre group has successfully opened 20 early learning hubs in a short period of three years, with locations spanning from Bilinga up to Pimpama on the Gold Coast, Ipswich, Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast.

As the demand for quality childcare services continues, Edge Early Learning Coomera is the group’s third centre within a 10km radius, with its other sites in Pimpama and North Pimpama all open and actively serving families of the burgeoning northern Gold Coast suburbs.

Jessica Green, Edge Early Learning Coomera’s Centre Director, believes the newest location will play an important part in the development of suburb’s next generation.

“I know how difficult it can be for families to find the right childcare centre, but our role is to ensure each family’s needs are met and ensure parents are closely involved with their child’s learning experience,” said Ms Green.

“Off the back of the success our two Edge Early Learning centres located close by in Pimpama and North Pimpama, it was a wonderful feeling to open yet another centre on the north end of the Gold Coast, sharing our brand of early learning with even more local families.”

Welcomed with open arms by locals, Edge Early Learning Coomera offers a purpose-built centre for up to 121 children per day, equipped with spacious indoor-outdoor learning areas, modern educational resources, 2 designated ateliers to allow children to harness their creativity and express themselves through art, as well as quiet and relaxing reading areas to unwind.

Additionally, the outdoor spaces are designed around the suburb’s natural environment, including many fun elements such as bike tracks, a pirate ship climbing fort, water play stations, and more, to keep children entertained and energised.

Offering an inspiring foundation of inquiry-based philosophy within their curriculum, Edge Early Learning encourages children to ask questions and learn through investigating new ideas.

To further promote this way of learning, the Coomera team dreamt up a colourful and creative subject for the children to look at every day – a piece of art that would encourage questions and develop their knowledge.

To bring their vision to life, Edge Early Learning collaborated with Brisbane-based artist, Carley Cornelissen, to produce an original mural inside the playground that features South American animals with leopards, flamingos and toucans, to name a few.

Edge Early Learning Coomera is now open and features 2 nursery rooms and 4 classrooms that back onto a spacious playground that allows for indoor-outdoor learning experiences and limited places remain across all age groups from 6 weeks to school-aged children.

To celebrate the official launch of the centre, Edge Early Learning Coomera is holding an Open Day on Saturday 27th February from 9am-12pm.

“The team will be showcasing some educational activities for children to experience the normal flow of a day at the centre, along with some extra exciting surprises planned such as a reptile show, Buble’licious show, balloon twisting, face painting, all while enjoying free coffee and a sausage sizzle,” said Ms Green.

Edge Early Learning Coomera is located on Vanes Street, down from St Joseph’s College and is open Monday to Friday from 6.30am-6.30pm.
