TWO EDGE ACT CENTRES AWARDED FOR QUALITY EARLY LEARNING EDUCATION & CARE

Two ACT-based Edge Early Learning childcare centres have been nationally recognised and awarded as one of the best in Australia for their quality education and care.

Edge Early Learning Ngunnawal was given a rating of ‘Exceeding’ the national quality standards in all categories as part of the annual Australian Children’s Education & Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) awards this month.

ACECQA is an independent statutory authority that assists governments in implementing the National Quality Framework for early childhood education and care throughout Australia and their national award recognises only a few early learning centres across the country annually, who have excelled in at least four of seven areas.

These areas include: (1) education program and practice, (2) children’s health and safety, (3) physical environment, (4) staffing arrangements, (5) relationships with children, (6) collaborative partnerships with families and communities, and (7) governance and leadership.

Implementing a bespoke educational program called ‘Teach A Rainbow’, maintaining exceptional safety measures such as daily use of temperature machines, and quality care and learning resources, were some of the standout features for the recognition – with Edge Ngunnawal rated as ‘exceeding’ in all seven areas.

“Being recognised by ACECQA is a huge accolade within the early learning sector, and we are beyond thrilled that our Ngunnawal centre has been bestowed with this recognition,” Edge Early Learning CEO Annie Bryce said.

“Edge Ngunnawal goes above and beyond in a range of different ways with their education and care, and we are really proud of this achievement.”

The award follows after a second Edge centre in ACT, Charnwood, was also formally awarded as ‘setting a benchmark’ in early childhood education in July, by Children’s Education and Care Assurance (CECA), for its Pay It Forward initiative. The internal initiative allocates two hours per month for staff to give back to the community through a range of efforts – from donating blood, volunteering or other volunteer services in the local community.

Edge Early Learning is one of Australia’s fastest growing and most reputable early childhood education and care groups, having established in South East Queensland in 2017, and has grown to more than 50 centres across three states – Queensland, South Australia and ACT.

With 3 centres in ACT, Edge expanded into the state in July this year.

Edge provides quality education and care for children aged from 6-weeks to preschool age by instilling a love for learning through play-based experiences. They are committed to delivering an exceptional early learning experience so that all children in its care can discover their full potential and start school with a love of learning.

With the backing of a passionate team of experienced educators, Edge’s educational programs support and enhance learning milestones and journeys across all areas of development through its four pillars, education, wellbeing, relationships, and sustainability.

Renowned for their state-of-the-art facilities, quality education and care, Edge is equally as passionate about looking after its employees. Staff are offered a wide range of benefits from 95% off childcare fees, above Award pay, birthday leave, school holiday leave for ECT’s, training and development, and paid traineeships.

Edge is currently taking enrolments for 2023 across all centres.
