IT’S CURTAINS UP FOR MAMMA MIA! THE MUSICAL AT THE STAR GOLD COAST

Matt Ward Entertainment’s highly anticipated rendition of the iconic production of MAMMA MIA! the musical, officially opens at The Star Gold Coast this Thursday 24 June for a strictly limited season.

Over 60 million people all around the globe have fallen in love with the story and music that makes MAMMA MIA! the ultimate feel-good musical that features over 22 of ABBA’s greatest hits.

Producer Matt Ward said audiences are in for a treat as the all-star cast are ready to deliver an unforgettable season of performances.

“Our incredible cast of seasoned performers and homegrown talent have worked tirelessly over the last few months with our creative team to bring this incredible production to life. It’s finally time to dust of their dancing shoes and sing Voulez Vous on opening night this Thursday,” he said.

“It’s surreal to finally say ‘curtains up’ to a live audience, especially after postponing the production for a year due to COVID, and off the back of our extensive audition process to find our full company cast of 22 performers.”

“But we’re here, and we’re ready, to welcome all the dancing queens of the Gold Coast to experience this modern take on MAMMA MIA!. Audiences can expect a 21st century twist on the show, as well as beautiful costuming and sets.” 

Ready to step into their famed characters and deliver the beloved story of MAMMA MIA! are leads Madeline Grice, as ‘Sophie Sheridan’, Jayde Westaby ‘Donna Sheridan’, Lakota Johnson ‘Sky’, Sean Mulligan ‘Sam Carmichael’, James Shaw ‘Harry Bright’, Sandro Colarelli ‘Bill Austin’, Leah Howard ‘Rosie’ and Emily Jade O’Keeffe ‘Tanya’.

With supporting and ensemble roles for the production featuring Kyra Thompson ‘Ali’, Alicia Fox ‘Lisa’, DonAlex Vilitama ‘Pepper’ and Zane Powell, Jackson Brash, Maddi Coleman, Ryley Shaw, Carla Doyle, Selin Doygun, Patrick Connolly, Shyan Andrews, Aurelie Roque, Alex Watson and Stephen Hirst.

Matt Ward Entertainment’s creative team bringing the musical to life includes, Director Tim Hill, Musical Director Kuki Tipoki, Choreographer Joseph Simons, Costume Designer Jess Hansen and Set Realisation by Adam Gardnir.

Presented by Matt Ward Entertainment, MAMMA MIA! the musical opens at The Theatre at The Star Gold Coast on Thursday 24 June to July 11, 2021.

Atrium Bar at The Star Gold Coast will also be transformed into a MAMMA MIA! paradise for the duration of the season, providing the perfect pre and post show destination for theatregoers. Partnering with Gordon’s Pink Gin, the Atrium Bar will serve up MAMMA MIA! inspired cocktails, offer theming throughout the venue and a DJ playing ABBA hits on show days to keep the party going.
