DISTILLERY ROAD MARKET PUTS OUT AN OPEN CALL FOR MUSICIANS

Australia’s New Entertainment Hub to Support Local Emerging Talent. Situated halfway between Brisbane and the Gold Coast, Distillery Road Market (DRM) is the south east’s newest dining, market and entertainment destination and is now calling for local musicians to help bring their weekend markets to life.

Launching in early Spring, DRM is seeking emerging musicians, local talent and acts to enhance the precinct’s original and authentic experience for locals and visitors alike.

The brainchild of Kenton Campbell, Founder of Zarraffa’s Coffee and CEO of Tonken Property Group, which is the project developer for DRM, the vision was always to create something special with the stallholder, marketer or entertainer at the forefront.

“We’re on a mission to showcase the best of south east Queensland,” said Mr Campbell. “Whether that be the local artisan, grower or musician, DRM was built to become the home of local talent.”

With DRM already an established destination for music lovers with live entertainment every Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Sugar Creek Smokehouse, the team are encouraging musicians, musical acts and local entertainers to apply for a gig at the markets.

“The past year hasn’t been easy for the music industry, and we’re thrilled to be supporting local music acts and artists and doing our part to create a home for live music.”

The DRM weekend markets will encompass Friday and Saturday nights, and Saturday and Sundays with a range of activations to suit all people, inspired by some of the world’s greatest markets.

“Influenced by the likes of Chelsea Market in New York and Borough Market in London, we are about attracting the region’s best growers and makers, filling intimate spaces with unique products, fresh produce, great food and, of course, great music.”

“DRM will provide a platform to cultivate new talent, and for songwriters and bands to perform and develop new audiences.”

From 4pm – 8pm, Friday and Saturday Nights, DRM will host Trucks and Tunes where visitors can ‘gather their gang’ and go on a street food journey, while enjoy great live music.

Saturday mornings will deliver a trove of local artisans, singer songwriters, makers, and creators with the Winter Bazaar markets from 8am – 2pm.

While Sunday mornings will play host to the region’s finest Growers Market from 6am – 11am.

A unique journey for your tastebuds and ears, Distillery Road Market is taking expressions of interest for both musicians and stall holders.
