DEMAND FOR QUALITY EARLY EDUCATION BRINGS MORE ‘EDGE’ TO IPSWICH REGION

One of Queensland’s fastest growing and leading early learning groups, Edge Early Learning, will open its third centre within the growing Ipswich region this May, providing dozens of families with more access to quality education and care.

The new purpose-built and state-of-the-art centre, Edge Early Learning Silkstone, is scheduled to open at 97 Blackstone Road on Monday 5 June and will welcome 128 children per day aged 6-weeks to school age.

Conveniently located next to Silkstone Village, Edge Silkstone will feature modern indoor learning resources, and include seven specially designed age-specific rooms including nursery, toddler and kindergarten. Outdoor play areas will feature bike tracks, climbing forts, water play stations, sand pits, vegetable gardens, space to run, and quiet areas to relax.

The new centre will join existing centre locations in the Ipswich region – Bellbird Park and Karana Downs – providing quality care and education to up to 417 children per day across the region.

“Ipswich is a rapidly growing region and there are so many families who are wanting to give their children an exceptional early learning experience and start school with a love of learning,” Edge Early Learning CEO Annie Bryce said.

“We’ve been inundated with interest so far and have been contacted by more than 100 families in the community eager to book a tour and come out to explore the Edge Silkstone centre.

“We are really looking forward to opening our third location within the area, providing more families access to quality education and care, and have enjoyed meeting the local families who have toured the centre so far.”

According to the most recent Census, there are more than 90,400 families living within the Ipswich region, with almost 25,000 children aged between 0 and four-years-old. Also according to the Census, in Silkstone there are more than 1,000 families and 230 children aged between 0 and four-years-old living in the suburb.

In addition to quality early education, Edge is leading the way by offering mindfulness activities such as yoga, incorporating sustainable practices and utilising bamboo nappies and wipes, sunscreen, and environmentally friendly cleaning products. As well as offering daily meals made by in-house chefs who cater to all dietary requirements, all included in the daily fee.

Unique to Edge Silkstone, the centre will boast a special ‘Grow Sphere’, a large outdoor globe-shaped garden space with tiered shelves, so children of all ages and heights can tend to the garden and enjoy an encapsulated space inside the sphere where they can relax within the green environment.

“Sustainability and the wellbeing of children were the main drivers behind installing the innovation. When children spend time in nature, they have increased levels of happiness, creativity, improved concentration, and overall wellbeing,” Mrs Bryce added.

With opening hours from 6.30am to 6.30pm from Monday to Friday, the new Edge Silkstone centre offers extended operation times to best suit parents and carers and enables them to get the most out of the allocated subsided hours per fortnight.
