A HURRICANE OF LAUGHS SET TO HIT THE GOLD COAST

The annual GC Laughs Festival kicks off tomorrow, Saturday 13 March at HOTA, Home of the Arts as world-class comedians from near and far take to the stage during the GC Laughs Gala.

Kicking off the festival for the biggest night of comedy on the Gold Coast, is Australian cultural and big-time comedy icon, Heath Franklin Chopper, alongside some of the Festival’s funniest stars and homegrown heroes on March 13.

On Thursday, 18 March, Ivan Aristeguieta, Frenchy, Bob Franklin, and Aaron Gocs will take to the stage, followed by Danielle Walker, Gen Fricker, Luke Heggie, Fiona O’Loughlin, Nick Cody, and Michelle Brasier on Friday, March 19.

After his sell out shows in previous years, Joel Creasey returns on Saturday, 20 March, with Neel Kolhatkar, Craig Quartermaine, Sam Taunton, Women Like Us, Dan Rath, Hot Department, and Tommy Little.

Then on March 21, South Africa’s hilarious Dusty Rich will be bringing his multiple sell-out insanity manifestation ‘The Dusty Rich Comedy Circus’ – a weird and wild show, set to take the audience on an insane ride; completely created by the comics who perform and operate in the show.

And if the line-up wasn’t hilarious enough, last week GC Laughs Festival announced the addition of award-winning Scottish comedy superstar, Daniel Sloss, on April 11.

With sold out shows in Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney, Canberra and Perth ‘Daniel Sloss: HUBRIS’, is the 11th solo show by this comedy sensation, set to keep local audiences in stiches for one night only.

GC Laughs Festival Director, Josh Armstrong, said comedy lovers are in for a treat with the roaring line up of talent.

“We can’t wait to bring the laughs to life from this weekend. Audiences can expect side splitting comedy from a huge line up of brilliant talent every night of the GC Laughs Festival,” he said.

“The response from Gold Coasters has already been incredible and we’re pleased to say that some shows have sold so well that we’ve had to scramble to find more seats, including Ivan Aristeguieta’s ‘Piñata’ and Nick Cody’s ‘Dad Bod’ which has already been moved to HOTA’s Lakeside Room, offering the potential to host hundreds more comedy enthusiasts during the shows.”
